Corridor to Sri Kartarpur Sahib: Captain Asks Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to Intervene

CHANDIGARH—The Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has written a letter to the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj asking her to appeal the Pakistan government to facilitate open access of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib to Sikhs residing in India during the 550th birthday celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji .

Notably, the Pakistani Army Chief General Bajwa had told the Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu that the Pakistan government was deliberating to open corridor for Indian Sikhs to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib during 550th birthday celebrations.

In the letter, Captain Amarinder Singh has appealed the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to rake up the matter with her Pakistani counterpart.

Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has warmly welcomed the move of Pakistani government for deliberating upon facilitating Indian Sikhs with open access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.
