Portrait of Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains to be Installed in Central Sikh Museum on August 24

CHANDIGARH—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has announced to install the portrait of Sikh Intellectual Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains in the Central Sikh Museum. Surrey based Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains had passed away on November 3, 2016 due to severe cardiac illness.

Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains was renowned for producing first multimedia encyclopedia of Sikhism, setting up the first multimedia Sikh museum at Khadoor Sahib and making efforts to create awareness about AIDS, drugs and other social evils by preaching about evils around the Indian sub-continent.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, the SGPC secretary Dr. Roop Singh informed that the portrait of Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains will be placed in the Central Sikh Museum on August 24 at 11 am.

Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains was conferred many awards by the Canadian government including ‘Order of British Columbia’, ‘Prime Minister Award’ and ‘Governor General Caring Award’. Sri Akal Takht Sahib Authorities had given him the title of “Sikh Scholar of Computer Age”.  He was also named twice in the list of top 100 Sikh personalities in the world.
