FARIDKOT—President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) on June 12 appeared before the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Interim Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand and apologized for using derogatory remarks against BSP president Mayawati. Notably, Simranjit Singh Mann had used derogatory remarks against Mayawati in gathering at Bargari on June 1.
Appearing before Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, Simranjit Singh Mann said that he didn’t use derogatory remark intentionally against Mayawati. Citing the cases of abuses against Rupan Deol Bajaj and French girl Katia, he told the Akal Takht Jathedar that he always fought for the rights of the oppressed woman.
Meanwhile, the Interim Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand has forgiven him while cautioning him of doing so in future.
It may be recalled here that Simranjit Singh Mann had made a comment in a pure countryside style on Mayawati for not attending the program at Bargari on June 1. Mann’s comment meant that the Sikh community doesn’t even kick on her back.
