AMRITSAR SAHIB—In commemoration of the martyrs of June-1984 holocaust, the pro-freedom Sikh outfit Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has announced to take out a Freedom March in the holy city Amritsar Sahib on June 5. The march would be taken out under the patronage of party president S. Simranjit Singh Mann and leadership of YADA’s patron S. Eman Singh Mann.
Sharing the development with Sikh24, SADA’s General Secretary S. Amrik Singh Ballowal informed that the march would commence from Gurdwara Sri Santokhsar Sahib at 10 am and will conclude at Sri Akal Takht Sahib after traversing through Hall gate and Heritage Walk Street.
S. Amrik Singh Ballowal said that the pain of unhealed wounds of June 1984 holocaust on Sikh psyche was intensifying day by day. Appealing the Sikh masses to attend the march on June 5, he said that struggling for the establishment of a sovereign Sikh state is the only way to pay tribute to the Sikh martyrs.
No Sikh should ever forget what happened in 1984.
