Republic Day Boycott: Dal Khalsa takes out protest march in Mansa

MANSA, Punjab—Boycotting the Republic Day celebrations in India, the Dal Khalsa activists today took out a protest march in Mansa while enchanting pro-freedom slogans. Dal Khalsa activists were carrying placards favouring Sikh sovereignty and portraying the biased approach of Indian constitution towards Sikhs.

Dal Khalsa President Harpal Singh Cheema said that self-determination was an inalienable right of all communities and nationalities including people of Punjab and Kashmir. He added that the Indian state was crushing rightful aspirations of Punjab Kashmir masses by portraying them as secessionist and terming their demands as illegal and parochial. “We believe the only way forward to resolve all disputes are through right to self-determination,” he said.

Harpal Singh Cheema also made a special appeal to the western countries to not to ignore the Indian state’s excesses on minorities for the sake of commercial and economic interests.

Interacting with media on this eve, Dal Khalsa’s spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh said that the unprecedented transfer of population towards against the will of the people of undivided Punjab, the massacre of thousands, the denunciation of the basic rights of people of divided Punjab, the usurpation of our resources, the desecration of our religious places, the killing of our youth extra-judicially, the destruction of our religious ethos through assimilation and interference, the exodus of our population for economic reasons to greener pastures beyond the shores of their homeland- all are a clear manifestation of the colonization of Punjab.

  1. If these rss goons keep on trampling on the human rights of the minorities just remember a day will come when all the minorities will unite and then break up the country only then they will realize who is responsible for the damage.
