Sikhs Show Unity With Muslim Leaders In Punjab After Quran Sacrilege

MALERKOTLA, Punjab—A team of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) headed by the General Secretary S. Amrik Singh Ballowal, reached Malerkotla on August 22 to inquire about the sacrilege of ‘Quran Sharif’ that had occurred a few days back. The sacred Muslim holy book was desecrated by some miscreants.

Meeting the President of Muslim Federation of Punjab Advocate Movin Faruqi and others in Malerkotla, the SADA team had full details of the incident shared with them. The SAD (Amritsar) also expressed solidarity with te Muslim community in these unfortunate time to support the struggle for bringing the culprits to justice.

Interacting with media on this occasion, the SAD (Amritsar) General Secretary S. Amrik Singh Ballowal said that that attacks on minorities and sacrilege of their religious scriptures won’t be tolerated at any cost in Punjab. He added that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) was steadfast to fight against Indian state’s oppression and hooliganism of Hindu fanatics.

The activists of both bodies stated that minorities in Punjab were united to foil the policies of miscreants to malign the environment of Punjab.
