O my mind! What did you bring with you when you came into the world, and what will you take with you when you go? -Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 1113

Message: The mind is in delusion. We need to motivate our mind to introspect and realise the true purpose in life. We need to talk to it like an intimate friend.

It needs to realise that empty-handed we came into this world and with nothing in the hands shall we depart.

It needs to overcome its habit of excessive desires and unhealthy negative thinking. Instead of running after worldly riches and amass more and more wealth, it needs to embrace the commodity of spirituality from Gurbani.

It needs to regularly relish and sip the nectar of the praises and glory of the Divine through Gurbani. It needs to embrace the Eternal.

Etymology: From Sanskrit kim (what, why) → Pali kiṁ → Prakrit kiṁ/ kya/ki → Kashmiri and others kya (what).
