Dal Khalsa to hold conference and protest against State oppression on August 14

HOSHIARPUR, Punjab—The pro-freedom Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa has announced to organize a conference and protest march in Jalandhar on August 14 against ongoing state oppression, atrocities and injustice towards Sikh community and other minorities. The event is being portrayed as a bid to apprise the common masses about so called Independence of India on its 70th Independence Day.

The theme of the Conference will be about misuse of sedition law by the Indian state to oppress minorities and lynching of schedule castes and Muslims.

The event will also highlight the retrial of Bhai Satnam Singh and Bhai Tejinderpal Singh in a 36 years old case of hijacking a plane. Despite of the fact that all the accused have served life sentence in regard in Pakistan, the Indian government has put the duo activists on retrial using sedition law.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, Dal Khalsa leader Harcharanjit Singh Dhami informed that the march will be an aspiration of Sikh sentiments plaintiff of freedom from Indian hegemony.

Terming the retrial of Sikh hijackers as a classic example of Indian judiciary’s dark side, party spokesperson S. Karnwarpal Singh said that the Indian state had freed Hindu hijackers without any punishment but the Sikh hijackers are being exploited even after serving 14 years of their lives in jails.
