More than 100,000 pilgrims pay obeisance at Sri Hemkunt Sahib within 20 days of its opening

RISHIKESH, Uttarakhand, India— Within twenty days of opening of Sri Hemkunt Sahib gates, more than 100,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the Sikh shrine situated in hills of Uttarakhand. Notably, the gates of Sri Hemkunt Sahib were opened on May 25.

Vice-President of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust S. Narinderjit Singh Bindra said that more than 5,000 pilgrims from all over world were paying obeisance at Sri Hemkunt Sahib daily. He further added that the journey to Sri Hemkunt Sahib was completely safe and the pilgrims were even enjoying the Helicopter service.

S. Narinderjit Singh Bindra further said that the management trust was making every possible effort to provide comfertable environment to the pilgrims. He has appealed the Sikh masses to beware of rumours being aired by miscreants and to pay obeisance at Sri Hemkunt Sahib to receive blessings of Guru Sahib.

Situated at altitude of 15,197 feet, Sri Hemkunt Sahib is a Sikh shrine in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the tenth Sikh master, and finds mention in Dasam Granth, a work dictated by Guru Sahib himself. With its setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff.

  1. Please stop giving wrong information to public. I think it is moral duty of Sikh 24 check some basic facts before publishing Please tell me and everyone else concerned where did Guru Gobind Singh Ji dictated this so called Dasam Granth this name did not even exist in his life time. It’s initial name was bachittar natak .

  2. Biggest joke on Sikh Religion. Sikhs should sit down and read Guru Granth sahib ji . One will find out going to any so called religious building is not a path to salvation. This so called Hemkunt is against all the teachings of sikhism. The so called yogi ism, going to off track places is prohibited in our religion. Please wake up, instead of wasting your time energy and money utilise the same to feed some hungry person or educate a poor kid take care of your relatives ettc.
