Jathedar Khusropur takes on Congress for failing to control desecration incidents

KAPURTHALA—Speaking with Sikh24 on June 7, renowned Sikh activist and President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) from Kapurthala, Jathedar Narinder Singh Khusropur, took on the Congress led Punjab government for its failure to control desecration incidents in Punjab. He said that the anti-Sikh powers were continuously hurting the Sikh sentiments by committing sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the state.

Jathedar Khusropur said that neither the earlier SAD-BJP led Punjab government was serious about unearthing the conspirators of sacrilege incidents nor the current Punjab government seems to be. He added that the Punjab government should pass strict law fixing death sentence or life imprisonment for the sacrilege committers and conspirators.

“Continuous occurrence of sacrilege incidents in Punjab was the result of ignorance of Union and State governments towards the issue,” he said.

He warned the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to take suitable measures to put control over sacrilege incidents otherwise the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) would be forced to take strict action.
