Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu acquitted in another case pertaining to Ammunition recovery

NABHA, Punjab—Political Sikh prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu was today acquitted another case pertaining to ammunition recovery Sessions Court of Patiala. Notably, the Nabha police had indicted him under sections 3,4,5 of Explosives Act in an FIR No. 7/2010.

On being contacted by Sikh24, Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur confirmed the development. He informed that Advocate Brijinder Singh Sodhi was acting as a Defence lawyer in this case.

It may be recalled here that the alleged Khalistan Liberation Force chief Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu was arrested by Punjab Police from the Indira Gandhi International airport on his return from Thailand in November, 2014. At the time of his arrest, Bhai Mintu was accused of being involved in 10 terror-related cases including for the attack on Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and on three Shiv Sena leaders.

Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu had fled from the Maximum Security Jail of Nabha on November 27, 2016 taking advantage of the situation when renowned gangsters were being freed by their companion. But unfortunately within 24 hours of his escape, he was nabbed by the Delhi police from Railway station when he was trying to flee to Goa.
