BATHINDA, Punjab—Ruling out the claims being made by Chief minister Parkash Badal of not demanding support from Sirsa cult, the Political Affairs Committee of Sirsa cult has made it clear that the Shiromani Akali Dal leadership had sought their support in assembly polls.
Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal’s patriarch Parkash Badal and president Sukhbir Badal had said that their party didn’t ask cult for support instead the cult authorities extended support as their wish.
In a press meet at Bathinda on February 8, Sirsa cult’s Political Affairs Committee head Ram Singh said that all the mainstream political parties including SAD, Congress and AAP had sought support from cult in assembly polls of Punjab. He added that the cult preferred to support SAD-BJP candidates as the SAD leaders had sought support. He further claimed that more than 80% of cult disciples voted for SAD-BJP candidates following the directions of cult authorities.
Launching attack on ruling Shiromani Akali Dal, the cult’s PAC head Ram Singh said that only Sirsa cult’s support to the SAD-BJP candidates will save them from a shameful defeat in Punjab.
This past month, Sikh24 shared pictures of Akali leaders, including Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Jagdeep Singh Nakai, Sikander Singh Maluka, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, Dilraj Singh Bhunder, Amit Ratan and Harpeet Singh at the birth anniversary of Sirsa Cult’s former chief Shah Satnam on January 26.
Giani Gurbachan Singh has said that the 2007 hukamnama was still intact and any Sikh leader who visited the dera must face religious punishment.

If the Dera has made a calling to its followers to vote for SAD Badal, and they have followed through.. then the Dera is the culprit, for all deaths of innocent Punjabis. The Dera and its followers are responsible, for each farmer suicide to come, the depleted health of newborns, the denial of punjabs waters, the drug ridden youth, the rapes of innocent girls.
If the Dera wishes to save SAD Badal.. at the cost of the whole nation of Punjab, then Punjabis, should question whether such a Dera should be permitted in their State.
Hopefully SAD Badal will be finished, along with Congress, and Strongly recommend people of Punjab the first thing they do, under new Government of Punjab, is uproot this Dera.. and send it far away from Punjab as possible., for its own good. And good of States children, elderly, and youth.
