CHANDIGARH—Renowned singer turned politician KS Makhan joined Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) on November 6. KS Makhan had taken ‘Pahul of Amrit’ few years and had become a baptized Sikh. He also sang many tracks in appreciation of great Sikh of 20th century Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.
He had unsuccessfully contested the Parliament election from Sri Anandpur Sahib Constituency on Bahujan Smaj Party’s ticket in 2014.
In a press note shared with Sikh24, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has termed it as an extreme benefit to party as the multi-faceted personality KS Makhan was popular among Punjabi youth.
KS Makhan said he would campaign for the Akali Dal in the upcoming 2017 polls. He appreciated the work Akali Dal has done for Punjab.
