Indo-Pak tension: Sikh Activists Hold Rally Seeking Peace

AMRITSAR SAHIB—Amid tensions in Indo-Pak relations, the activists of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar today conducted a march in Amritsar seeking peace. The caravan led by Bhai Amrik Singh Nangal (District President of SADA from Amritsar), Bhai Jarnail Singh Sakhira (General Secretary of District Unit) and Bhai Papalpreet Singh (Chief Organizing Secretary of Youth Akali Dal Amritsar) sought UNO’s intervention to stop India-Pakistan from starting war.

Interacting with media, Bhai Papalpreet Singh expressed deep concern over the plight of families border belt who have been forced by Indian government to evacuate their houses. He said that the Sikh families are suffering due to the egoistic clash between a Hindu and Muslim state.

Taking on Modi led Union government of India, Bhai Papalpreet Singh said that the Modi government was singing the song of war to divert attention of International media from ongoing human rights abuses in the territory of J&K. He maintained that it was very unfortunate that the saffron Union government is devastating the families living in border belt in this war drama.

Bhai Gursharan Singh Sohal, Bhai Gurmail Singh Shergill, Bhai Harwinder Singh, Bhai Maninder Singh, Bhai Amandeep Singh, Bhai Ranjit Singh, Bhai Vikramjit Singh, Bhai Nishan Singh, Bhai Ajit Singh, Bhai Sham Singh, Bhai Dharminder Singh Pehalwan, Bhai Kulwant Singh Majhail etc. were the activists who taken out march.
