SGPC To Install Water Treatment Plants at Gurdwaras

AMRITSAR SAHIB—In attempt to control the downing level of drinking water beneath the earth, the SGPC has decided to install Water Treatment Plants in its Gurdwaras across Punjab.  As per information shared with Sikh24, a meeting was held at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib in which SGPC heard complaints about lack of drinking water facilities at Gurdwaras in Punjab.sgpc-logo

Speaking with Sikh24, SGPC’s spokesperson and additional secretary Diljeet Singh Bedi informed us that the installation of a single plant would cost upto Rs. 200,000.  “Initially, the Water Treatment Plants will be installed in 30-35 A-grade Gurdwaras being run by SGPC and the process of installation will begin within a month,” he said on August 25.  He said that if this scheme remains successful then these plants would also be installed in other Gurdwaras. Citing the distribution of plants ploughed in Punjab-wide schools, universities and colleges by SGPC, he maintained that the SGPC had always made efforts to preserve nature and natural resources.

Diljeet Singh also informed us that the SGPC also begun organic farming to use its products for the free community kitchen of Sri Harmandir Sahib. He added that the SGPC created four bores for harvesting the rainwater in Sri Harmandir Sahib Complex.

  1. There should be some treatment for workers & granthies who do beadbi to gurbani, president & corrupt associates and even gurbachan singh after playing with sikh principals, who still thinks he is jathedar & even the president of akali dal (B jp).

  2. Some one needs to tell this stupid SGPC there is no such thing as ‘A-grade Gurdwaras’ as all Gurdwaras have Guru Granth Sahib residing in them are therefore of absolutely equal worth alongwith the sangat attending. The SGPC has more than enough money to clean the water of every Gurdwara and equip them all with CCTV which can be remotely monitored by the sangat. Makkar can start by selling his gold watch and donating all the money he and his cronies have been raking in by selling rooms near Darbar Sahib.
