SYFB to observe 38th Martyrdom Anniversary of Martyred Singhs of 1978

AMRITSAR SAHIB—Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala will observe the 38th martyrdom anniversary of the 13 Singhs who were martyred during the Nirankari Kand, which occurred on April 13, 1978. The 13 peacefully protesting Sikhs were martyred by the Punjab police, who opened fire on them. The martyred Sikhs were protesting against Nirankari Chief Gurbachan Singh who claimed he was superior to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Bhai Ranjit Singh of Damdami Taksal, who is Vice President of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindrawala, said that a Gurmat Samagam would be organized by his organization on April 23, 2016 in Street No. 8 of New Gurnam Nagar on Sultanwind Road of Amritsar. He said that renowned Sikh preachers, Kirtani Singhs, Dhadi Jathas, Kavishars and Saints would pay homage to the martyred Singhs at this occasion.

He said that the martyrs of April 13, 1978 had laid the foundation stone of the current Sikh struggle, which would end in a sovereign Sikh state. Bhai Ranjit Singh said that his organization would soon step up efforts to make the Sikh masses aware of the enslaved condition of Sikhs in India.

Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedar Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala will also be present at the program.
