Guru Granth Sahib Saroop Desecrated Near Banga

BANGA, Punjab—A saroop of Guru Granth Sahib Ji was found desecrated earlier today in village Jhander Kalan near Banga.  Several torn angs were recovered by local Sikhs.

Local police have taken over the investigation and the torn angs are currently in their possession.  No arrests have been made so far.

Several Panthik organizations arrived here today and performed ardas seeking forgiveness and asking that the culprits be brought to justice.

Gurdeep Singh Bathinda of the United Akali Dal told Sikh24 that the incident is shameful for the Government of Punjab.  “Miscreants were again able to desecrate a saroop of Guru Granth and the Punjab Government has again failed in nabbing the culprits,” he said.

Guru Granth Sahib satkar committee chief, Bhai Balbir Singh Mucchal, also condemned the incident and told Sikhs across Punjab to remain vigilant and not depend on the police to protect the Gurdwaras.  “We need to stay alert and protect our Guru and our Gurdwaras ourselves since the Punjab Government has failed in its duties,” he added.

Last year, dozens of similar cases shocked the Sikh Sangat across Punjab as Guru Granth Sahib’s saroops were desecrated on a large scale.

  1. Let there be no civil unrest or war .There are lot of forces waiting to fish in troubled water.
Hindu -Sikhs need to learn the art of peacefully coexistence and not play into the forces who want to return Punjab to the 1980-1990 era.
Let Indian Punjab prosper and be peaceful as do rest of Punjab’s all over the earth .
We are all travelers in the Journey called
    “LIFE”

    • Sikhs do not need to learn art of peaceful co-existence – their religion and their history teaches them this. Better you concentrate on Hindu supremacist problem and their innate issues of dividing people up into different classes.

  2. It will require some really intelligent and innovative measures to be adopted to prevent this ongoing Beadabi .
It will require lot of maturity on how to react to these provocations

Who so ever is doing is so childish and with what aim one wonders.

    • Whosover is doing this is very dangerous and their aims are very clear, so much so that Shiv Sena Punjab leaders are reported to have resigned opposing disturbing activities of Hinduvta outfit citing provocative activities of Shiv Sena has led to tensions between Sikh organisations and activists of the Shiv Sena. Notably a Shiv Sena lader was killed in a road accident a few days back and Shiv Sena had started targeting Sikh passersby. Kapil Verma and Honey Singh of Shiv Sena Samajvadi said that the Shiv Sena Party was trying to create disturbance in Punjab and around a dozen leaders of Shiv Sena have decided to resign from Shiv Sena to protest against wrongful policies of the outfit. Kapil Verma was chairman of Punjab Youth Shiv Sena (Samajvadi) and Honey Singh was North India general secretary of the Shiv Sena Samajvadi. Other Shiv Sena leaders and activists who have tendered their resignations include Shiv Sena youth vice-president Rajnish Gill, Prakash Chander vice-president (Punjab) and Sunil Bunty (district President).
) Hinduvta agents and their proxies (such as paid drug addicts) are doing it. A number have been caught and released and one was even posing as a Nihang at Anandpur Sahib as an infiltrator.
2 & 4) They are doing it to see how far they can have got and can still go with emasculating Sikhi in Punjab which is the ultimate aim. They have used decades of police extra judicial atrocities against Sikhs and successfully infiltrated the Sikhi leadership of the corrupted Akali Dal and SGPC which have enacted anti-Sikh policies – giving pardons to heretics like Ram Rahim, denigrating the principle of Miri Priri and the role of the panj pyare etc. To desecrate Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the ultimate test. If you do that and Sikhs are too feeble to protest you know you have sufficiently weakened if not broken the martial spirit of the Sikhs which is required if the next step on the Hinduvta agenda is to be achieved. Namely this is the total subjugation of the Indian Muslim and Christian populations which unlike Sikhism can be branded as anti national and foreign as both those religions were birthed in the middle east.
It is done in Punjab because Punjab is Sikhi’s religious homeland historically and heartland in terms of Sikh population per capita of any state in India i.e. there are more Sikhs there than anywhere else in India so if you can get away with desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji there you can take it as read you can get away with it everywhere else without any problems or resistance.

    • The Indian Express has published an article on Punjab ‘ghar wapsi’ programme dated March 28, 2016 which perfectly shows what the Hinduta mafia are up to in their divide and conquer policy. Why did Modi (head of HInudvta party BJP and affiliate to terrorist Hindu organisation the RSS) agree to ‘Sehajdhari’ Sikhs have been barred from voting in SGPC polls? ‘WITH THE Rajya Sabha passing a legislation barring Sehajdhari Sikhs from voting in the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) elections, Hindu organisations have launched a campaign, including on social media, asking the 70 lakh-strong community to “identify with their origins and join Hinduism”. While the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has started “village-level interactions” to “enlighten” Sehajdhari Sikhs, a little-known outfit called Hindu Nyay Peeth has started distributing pamphlets in some villages of Ludhiana and Bathinda to convey that Hinduism was “always open” for them.
“The interactions have started in rural Punjab and soon seminars will be held at the grassroot-level to tell Sehajdhari Sikhs that they are not different from Hindus. We have no problem with Sehajdharis remaining in Sikhism, if they get respect and rights but if not, they should turn towards their origin. There is no need to get forcefully converted to Christianity or Islam,” said Sukhpal Singh, national executive member, VHP.
On March 16, the Rajya Sabha passed the Sikh Gurdwaras (Amendment) Bill 2016, excluding the Sehajdharis from voting in the fiercely contested SGPC elections, mostly won by the Shiromani Akali Dal and its allies. The Bill is expected to come up in Lok Sabha next month.’ By attacking Sri Guru Granth Sahib and desecrating him they can say that those ‘Sikhs’ who protest such beadbi – and they are obviously going to prominently be baptised adherents bearing the readily identifiable visual aspects of a Sikh that ‘Harinder’ takes great exception to – uncut beards and hair, turbans, kirpans et al – are ‘orthodox’, ‘hardliners’ in their ‘over-reaction’. Breaking off Sehajdarhi Sikhs who by definition have a much fainter conviction they can rebrand baptised Sikhs as then being ‘radicals’, ‘extremists’, and ‘militants’ and then use ‘justifiable’ force to brutally repress them if not outright kill them as has already happened with 2 Sikhs protesting beadbi who were shot dead by Punjab police officers who have now mysteriously disappeared into the ether.

  3. Some measures which could be adopted are.

    1) CCTV
    2) Keeping Guru Granth Sahib in a safe locker.
    3) 24 x 7 guard
    4) Resurrection of Guru Granth Sahib ji.
    5) Social boycott of the family.of individual

    • ‘2) Keeping Guru Granth Sahib in a safe locker.’?! Have you no idea how offensive that suggestion is to the Sikhs? How do we keep our Guru locked in a cupboard?! I have told you again and again Sri Guru Granth Sahib is not a just Holy Book that is comparable with other religions scriptures. It has the status of living eternal final Guru in Sikhi which is the same as messiah in Christianity or Prophet in Islam. You really need to get your mind around this simple fact because it is astonishing that you call yourself a Sikh and a Punjabi and yet do not comprehend this. Tell what other religion treats their ‘Holy Book’ as if it were a human being being clothed daily, actually being put to bed at night and raised in the morning with such reverence? And what the hell do you mean by resurrection of Guru Granth Sahib? Normally your sly euphemism of ‘resurrection’ when it applies to SIkhs means they emigrate from Punjab – NEVER EVER going to happen, the Sikhs will NEVER EVER forsake their spiritual and historical homeland or allow our Guru to be ejected from that sacred soil our Gurus bequeathed to us. The only measure that needs to be adopted is to have CCTV installed in all Gurdwaras with alarms and live feed to internet monitoring (Sikhs in Punjab could easily be employed to monitor 24 hours a day – paid jobs that will keep them from hopelessness leading to drink and drug addiction) with local rapid reaction force of Sikhs (no point calling the police as they are more inclined to shoot Sikhs protesting beadbi rather than arrest culprits) to deal with culprits. All this paid for by the SGPC instead of wasting money gilding doors and buying up land for their Badal patrons. Once these Hinduvta miscreants understand that they will be caught and summarily dealt with Sikhs on the spot they will think twice about following orders from RSS high command about putting their lives on the line to commit sacrilege against Sikhs.
