:dateline:In the wake of the upcoming assembly elections of Punjab in 2017, former �Akali� leader cum Punjabi Singer Hans Raj joined the Congress fold on February 20 at Chandigarh in the presence of PPCC�s state head Captain Amarinder Singh.
Addressing media on this occasion, singer Hans Raj said that he quit the Akali Dal (Badal) party due to�the�arrogant behaviour of Akali leaders. He added that he had joined the Akali Dal after a visit from Parkash Badal to his house, but the party leadership side-lined him despite appointing him the Vice-President of Akali Dal.
