CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In the wake of the upcoming assembly elections of Punjab in 2017, former ‘Akali’ leader cum Punjabi Singer Hans Raj joined the Congress fold on February 20 at Chandigarh in the presence of PPCC’s state head Captain Amarinder Singh.
Addressing media on this occasion, singer Hans Raj said that he quit the Akali Dal (Badal) party due to the arrogant behaviour of Akali leaders. He added that he had joined the Akali Dal after a visit from Parkash Badal to his house, but the party leadership side-lined him despite appointing him the Vice-President of Akali Dal.
