AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Perplexing the matter even further, Jaswinder Pal Singh, personal assistant of former Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, Gurbachan Singh, denied that his boss admitted any mistake committed by pardoning Sirsa based controversial cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.  The mistake was admitted by Gurbachan Singh clearly in front of camera during his interview taken by young journalist Yadwinder Singh of ABP Sanjha channel.

It may be recalled that controversial move of pardoning Sirsa based anti-Sikh cultist hurt Sikh sentiments deeply. Since then, graph of the so-called Jathedars has gone down and they are facing anger of Sikhs globally.

Punjab Tribune quoted Gurbachan Singh’s PA as, “He (Gurbachan Singh) did not speak to any media person in this regard. Yes, some days ago, some media persons came to take his interview but he did not utter any such word”.

While talking to Sikh24 on phone, Yadwinder Singh from ABP said that the interview was recorded on January 27 and he got deeply surprised by the words the PA.  “Jathedar uttered word ‘Galti’ (mistake) number of times which was listened by all, still his PA is saying that he did not do so,” he added.

In the interview, Gurbachan Singh clearly said that decision of pardoning the Sirsa cultist was his blunder for which he is ready to resign from the post, if the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) would ask him. It is for the first time that he has admitted his blunder.

  1. These people should be ashamed of their acts , what’s the use of these long beards, turbans …
its a shame that people who represent the sikh body, don’t even know much about their identity and making a mockery out of themselves and hurting sentiments of the panth …

    Shame on these people …

    • You can put fine gold stirrups and embroidered saddle on a donkey to give it a passing resemblance to a stallion but it is always going to be incapable of acting like a thoroughbred – an ass will always be an ass even if it claims equine kinship to a horse.

  2. He’s so caught up in the telling of lies, half-truths, falsehoods and insincere apologies he can’t tell anymore which ones he told on what day, where and to whom – like a dog rabidly chasing its own tail. And he still thinks he’s a fit and capable person to remain in office?! There is a saying ‘It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt’: Makkar you and your manmukhs expose the villainy of your true selves every single time you open your mouths. SGPC is a busted flush.
