Supreme Court Orders Central Govt To Report on 1984 Genocide Probe

sikh-genocide-1984NEW DELHI, India—Acting on a petition filed by Sikh activist Gurlad Singh Kahlon, the Supreme Court has ordered the Union government of India to file a status report on the Special Investigation Team (SIT), organized to probe the anti-Sikh genocide in Delhi in 1984.

Advocate R. S Soori (Legal Counsel of Gurlad Singh Kahlon) explained that the SIT was appointed by the Central government of India in February, 2015 for a tenure of six months, by the T.S Thakur led Supreme Court’s bench. The SIT was to submit it’s final report after six months but later the team’s validity was extended for another year. Now, after the passage of a year, the SIT had remained unsuccessful in submitting a final report.

Contending the sensitivity of the case, Advocate Soori urged the Supreme Court to take charge of the investigations about 1984 anti-Sikh genocide.

The Supreme Court has currently ordered the Additional Solicitor Pinky Anand to apprise Court about the progress report of Special Investigation Team at regular intervals.

It is worth mentioning here that an absence of justice to the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide has remained a key issue for the political parties in the north Indian polls. Recently, the Kejriwal led Delhi government has provided compensation worth Rs. 5 lakh to each victim family in Delhi.

  1. Most problems of Indian Punjab can be solved like

    1) De Industrialization by FDI
    2) Drug addiction by a good Policing
    3) Debt by prudent financial management .

I don’t Know how to take out how to take out the Uranium and other Carcinogen in it water
Short of setting up New Punjab’s in different parts of Earth ,Galaxies and Universe .

    • Most of the problems in Punjab can be solved very easily. Disbandment of Akali Badal Party (and the lifetime ban of any relative of the Badal family), disbandment of the SGPC (and lifetime ban of Makkar and committee member’s families), the indictment of all police officers and army officers and politicians implicated in human rights abuses and offers of financial reward and amnesty from prosecution for those willing to testify and confess in a peace and reconciliation process, an external investigation by international groups, NGOs, civil rights organisations into the police service and the economy and the contamination of Punjab’s ground water. The Congress Party should also be banned in Punjab until it is prepared to accept responsibility for the crimes and atrocities against the Sikh people. Ditto the BJP and its terrorist wing the RSS. All water redistribution that has occurred must be assessed by international panel to asses the riparian damage it has done to Punjab’s ecology and economy and reversed. International auditors should also be called into to look into the personal finances of every politician and police officer who has held public office in Punjab since 1990. The Sikh regiments which were not deemed worthy of being part of Republic Day should be recalled from any and all positions outside of Punjab and made to patrol exclusively the border with Pakistan and actively recruit and employ Punjabi Sikh youth – I promise you the drug trade will stop within 24 hours.

  2. “1984 a Trap Theory ”

1984 was a TRAP laid out by the Empire.

The main actors in the 1984 story were simpletons like Mr JS Bhinderwala and Mrs I Gandhi who bit the trap and botched up Punjab in 1980 -1990.

    The “TRAP” works like this

    1) A Proxy killer is chosen who Provokes the Sikh community ( Nirankaris in this case)
    2) When the Sikh community rises in its self defense like Mr JS Bhinderwala and his boys the Sikh community is labeled as Terrorists.
    3) The State and Nation calls then self defense mechanism of the community as a rebellion against the state . The state then transforms itself into a Police state . It uses tools like Genocides , Extra Judicial Killings ,Rapes and OP –Blue star to crush the self defense mechanism of the Sikh community.

We need to be careful into not biting the TRAP laid out by the Empire to hurt the Sikh community and the Indian state.
More such and different Traps will be laid out in the future .

    • I have again posted my response for other readers to your previous equally ridiculous assertions that the Indian State was NOT responsible for the genocidal pogroms against the Sikhs from 1984 onwards so they can see that you have an agenda to try and blame phantom existential foreign forces rather than accept that it is the Indians who are responsible for these acts of religious intolerance towards minorities and need to mend their ways.
Why do you keep persisting on blaming foreign governments and even dead empires for the crimes committed by and in the name of the Indian State? What has the dead Roman and British Empires got to do with the genocidal pogroms against the Sikhs instigated, carried out, sponsored, approved, sanctioned, covered up and to this day defended by the Indian State (its politicians from all parties, its police and judiciary are all guilty of failing their sacred duty as much as the mobs encouraged, armed and given free reign to murder Sikhs with impugnity). As for the American Empire we wouldn’t even know some of the facts of these atrocities if we didn’t have the Snowden leaks about what American intelligence was picking up from its embassy in Delhi in 1984 about how much of the violence was orchestrated by Rajiv Ghandi’s party. And again for the British Empire you wish to pass the buck onto – it is thanks to their 30 year release policy of cabinet papers that we know that Indira Gandhi traitorously asked a foreign and former imperial power for military assistance in attacking Darbar Sahib more than six months before it happened (contradicting Indian army who said they had to do Operation Bluestar because time was so pressing). Where is the Indian Empire’s policy towards releasing governmental papers? They burn them and lose them and march into the museum and library of Darbar Sahib to loot its relics to try and rewrite Sikh history
Again RSS Harinder is blaming anyone who is not Indian for these sacrilegous crimes despite the FACT that some of the criminals have been caught red handed (and are Indian) and that those who have protested peacefully have been shot dead by Indian Punjabi police (and who in turn have been protected from prosecution by their Indian superiors). We all know which ‘Empire’ is involved in these crimes RSS Harinder and it isn’t the dead empires of Rome and Britain.
You are looking at the wrong causality, Bhindranwale died in 1984 but the injustices against Sikhs started decades before that when promises and assurances given to Sikhs to join India (and reject the setting up of their own Sikh state) by Nehru and the Congress Party were reneged upon. The sharing of state capital (Chandigarh) between two states, the redistribution of river water(the Punjab means 5 rivers and water is essential to Punjab’s history and agricultural base), the denial of a Sikh marriage act recognising the Anand Karaj (which effectively meant that Sikhs were being counted as Hindus), the rejection of Punjabi as the language of Punjab, the cleaving off of Punjab’s land to form another state territory with Haryana, etc – the grievances are well documented in the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions formulated in the sixties and seventies. The truth of what I am telling about communal causality is further demonstrated in the 1992 Bombay and 2002 anti Muslim ‘riots’ – these events would not have occurred had the apparent acceptibility of collective punishment of a religious minority been set in precedent with the anti Sikh pogroms of 1984. That communal intolerance to religious minorities is how India and Pakistan were born and it is an underlying problem that Hindus (as they form a majority in the Indian subcontinent and it is always incumbent on the ruling people whether they be white South African or Hindu Indian) have to be big enough to recognise and be magnanimous enough to resolve for the sake of the greater good. The integrity (not to mention honour and morality) of the Nation would be guaranteed by this carrot approach rather than the stick which always fails in the end and only leads to bloodshed and suffering of innocents. The Nirankaris are a heretical sect which were first supported by the British in their divide and rule policy to try and neuter the Sikhs pre-independence. Indira Gandhi resurrected this policy for exactly the same nefarious reason during the 1970s as her Congress Party could not overhaul the Sikh political party at that time the Akali Dal through the ballot box. The Sikhs had been peacefully demanding their rights from Independence in 1947 as it became clearer that Nehru having wooed / bamboozled Master Tara ISngh and SIkh leadership into siding with India (instead of Pakistan or re-establishing their own sovereign Sikh state such as the Khalsa Raj of Maharajah Ranjit Singh which encompassed territory from Kashmir, Punjab (north of the Sutlej) and lands up to the Khyber) had no intention of honouring promises made. This lack of faith from Nehru led to the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions to address Sikh grievances over two decades before Bhindranwale even came on the scene although you are correct to note that the murders of innocent SIkhs by the state sponsored and protected Nirankaris led to Sikh backlash. You are incorrect however to continually raise spectre of Empire’s armies – the British Empire was and is dead and had no involvement whatsover in oppressing Sikhs in Punjab during the 1970s, 1980s or 1990s. As for the American EMpire, the worst you can say is that they remained quite when they knew the extent of human righst violations by both Indira and Rajiv Gandhi’s Congress Governments (as revealed in Snowden’s leaks of US Embassy cables during those times). The fact that the State and PUnjab Government made Punjab into a police state is not excusable by saying that the human rights and civil rights abuses that then then subsequently ensued against the SIkhs was inevitable (as whenever governments create police states such abuses occur) as those politicians, those police officers, those army personnel, those judges et al were all fellow Indian citizens and should have treated Sikhs as their brothers. The sadistic and illegal treatment the SIkhs were subjected to (the legacy of which continues to this very day) is not excusable and those who engaged in it should be brought to book not because of the Geneva conventions (which apply to war combatants) but because of human rights violations and crimes against humanity.Everything was not fine and happy before 1980 – I have already told you time and again about growing Sikh grievances from 1947 when it became clearer and clearer that Nehru and the established Sarkar were reneging on promises made to SIkhs before Independece (to entice them to join India rather Pakistan or re-create their own sovereign SIkh State) that culminated in the demands of the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions. Instead of addressing those genuine grievances Sikhs were continually rebuffed – the 1966 seccession of Punkani Hindus abandoning both their mother tongue Punjabi and state Punjab for Hindi and the creation of Haryana with all the attendant subsequent issues surrounded unfair channelling of Punjab water without Sikh consent (who were the majority in an agrarian dependent Punjab) right up to the murder of Sikhs by Nirankari’s back by Indira Gandhi (did I mention she also instigated an illegal and draconian state of emergency in India from 1975 to 1977 in response to being found guilty of fraud by a court) or is that all part of your rosy recollection of Punjab enjoying bliss and prosperity in the 1970s?) AS you are a Hindu (posing as a Sikh for nefarious reasons) I can quite understand why you wish to shift blame and attention onto Sikh militants rather than address the actual historical facts of the case but then to even absolve yourself of this responsibility and blame foreign Empires – you are either genuinely delusional (which may account for your poor grasp of history although the RSS attempts to change that in Indian history school textbooks may also be to blame) or cynically trying to condemn the Sikhs as whenever they raise their heads in dissent you accuse them of being militants or terrorists (although cant quite bring yourself to use such terms when we talk of Bhagat SIngh or Udham Singh when they resisted despotism and tyranny of the sarkar). Very telling of your real agenda and the frequency with which you post in this Sikh website with the same anti-Sikh drip-drip message. Truth and reconciliation is only possible when you are willing to accept the unpalatable truth and are genuine about reconciling – you clearly are not there yet and as a consequence not only do the Sikhs continue to suffer but India herself is dishonoured.

      • EMPIRE NEVER DIES

Who told you Empire is dead.
Roman ,British Empire may have gone .
The Empire however never goes even in a so called “SOVERIGN INDIA”
The British Empire when it away in 1947 it handed over the reigns of India state to the Congress and the Nehru family.

The Ukraine , Syrian , Iraq and Afghanistan war shows that

        EMPIRE IS ALIVE AND KICKING.

All conflicts in world have their origin in the
“MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX ” of Empires .
All wars are market for them and if there is no war it will create one as they did from 1947 to 1984.
It is a war profiteering enterprise
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_profiteering

      • The only thing about Empires that applies here is your washing of your (read India’s) hands of all responsibility like Pontius Pilate did when he claimed he was not responsible for the death sentence he had passed on the pious Jew but that it was all the fault of others. The war profiteering exercise is not down to just the evil white man – your mass murdering friend Rajiv Gandhi sought out the Bofors Gun bribe and you think your master Modi has not taken a backhander to buy France’s jets? Gurmeet Pinky took lakhs of fresh rupees (not dollars or pounds) in payment for his wages to commit extra judicial kidnappings, torture and murder on behalf of the Indian State not Britain or America. Also you’ve got the term muddled as well as the rest of your thinking – it is called the ‘Industrial Military Complex’. But then again you are a fuzzy-headed proponent of spending our resources worrying about the sun burning out in a billion years time. And if you really believe (which you don’t) that a Sovereign India cannot resist the West and must do their bidding then surely you are making the case for Sikhs to reconstitute their own Sikh Sovereign State where they have all the levers of power in order to resist such manipulative control. Remember you cannot bribe an honest man and the Khalsa is pure. For the sake of India perhaps it would be best that those who are highly susceptible to being corrupted from outside Empires (the BJP, Congress, Shiv Sena, Akali Badal, SGPC) should all stand aside and let the Khalsa run the country.

      • Yes I know Eisenhower termed it ‘Military Industrial Complex’ (MIC) but he was a military man before he became President and like all old soldiers thinks everything revolves around the military. I have rather reflected the revised opinion that self interest is not about military power but economic domination.

  3. You can only have resurrection if you have actually died. The Sikh kaum – despite the best efforts of the murderous Congress and its supporters – never died in 1984. It was brutally attacked and assaulted but the spirit of the SIkh nation was not extinguished. If anything it opened the eyes of many Sikhs to the injustices that had been outlined in the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions and Sikh resistance to and resolve to get justice for such abuses (even in the face of the illegal extra judicial murders carried on by the state during the 80s and 90s) has only ever stiffened. Instead of resurrection you should think of 1984 as being the fire that made loha into steel as we are stronger now as a Panth than we were in 1984 as can readily be seen in the Sangat’s rejection of Akali Badal and SGPC corruption.

  4. They will keep on’delaying’ the findings until all the victims and their attackers have died of old age. They have to otherwise the entire Hinduvta and Congress Sarkari will be exposed for their complicity and a new precedent will be set where commissions and inquiries are actually expected to report and find politicians, police and party officials guilty of inciting and facilitating genocidal hatred which is completely against Indian Sarkari tradition.
