CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Member Parliament Prem S Chandumajra has demanded that Sikhs should be provided open access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. He has urged the Union Government to discuss a corridor with the Pakistan government.

There have been talks about a corridor to Sri Kartarpur Sahib since the past several years, however no work has been done aside from the statements by politicians.

The city of Kartarpur was established by Guru Nanak Dev ji in 1522, and is the location of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.  A Gurdwara Sahib was established here in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

During the zero hour of Parliament, Chandumajra also sought observing of Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom day as ‘Balidan Divas (Sacrifice Day)’ in all over India.
