BARELLI, Uttar Pradesh—Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh Balwant Singh Ramuwalia reportedly paid a visit to political Sikh prisoner Bhai Waryam Singh in Bareilli jail on December 16. Ramuwalia remained there for half an hour and gathered information about the cases registered against Bhai Waryam Singh.
Information available from reliable sources reveals that Uttar Pradesh government may release the political Sikh prisoner Bhai Waryam Singh in a bid to earn Sikh votes. Bhai Waryam Singh has been in prison for the last 25 years and 7 months.
It is rumored that the Samajwadi Party has deployed Ramuwalia into Cabinet to attract Sikh vote bank. Ramuwalia has also had a vendetta against the Akali government of Punjab for what he feels has been his exploitation in the party, before he finally left in October this year.
