Safer Sikhs Partnership Launches Today in UK Parliament

Safer Sikhs UKLONDON, UK—In readiness for the formal launch of Safer Sikhs Partnership to be held on Monday 7th December 2015 in the UK Parliament, the Safer Sikhs Partnership website today went live: The website can be accessed at:www.safersikhs.org

The Safer Sikhs Partnership is a project developed by the Community Safety Sub-Committee of Sikh Council UK in response to calls from both those running Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations and users for an improvement in the levels of awareness and practice in safeguarding and support for vulnerable children and adults.

The website contains full details and access to all resources including policies, procedures, leaflets, posters, statutory and regulatory requirements etc.  The website will also carry details of the regional structures put in place to support Gurdwaras, community organisations and communities across the UK.  Training opportunities will also be detailed.

Chair of the Community Safety Sub-Committee of Sikh Council UK, Bal Sandhu said, “The website is expected to become a key reference point for Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations as well as individuals within the Sikh community.  Our team of dedicated professionals will ensure the information contained within the website and the resources we produce stay up to date to support the needs of our community.”

Safer Sikhs Partnership will be launched on 7th December at a special event held at the Houses of Parliament, London.  Sikh Council UK will also be circulating dates of regional awareness roadshows and further information for Gurdwaras and organisations.
