LUDHIANA, Punjab—After being released from the Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s health has continued deteriorating. Main reason behind the continued deteriorating is water accumulation inside his body due to excessive feeding by the doctors. This situation has forced Bapu Ji to stop drinking water in needed quantity.
Meanwhile, the Sikh sangat in large numbers is visiting Bapu Ji at his residence to extend their well wishes. Currently, no surveillance is being kept by the administration on the Sikh Sangat.
Talking with Sikh24’s correspondent, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s son Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi informed that spiritually Bapu Ji is in Chardi Kala and is firm on his stance. He said that Bapu Ji’s stand is clear either the illegally detained political prisoners would be released or he will pass away.
Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is on hunger strike since January 16 for the release of political Sikh prisoners being detained illegally by the Indian government despite serving mandatory terms of their sentences. Punjab government has left no stone unturned to make Bapu Ji give up his stance but the government has not succeed in its motives. Bapu Ji was force fed numerous times, his son Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi was exploited brutally and his son-in-law Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola was murdered in August 2015.
