:dateline:President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Simranjit Singh Mann, has moved a petition in Punjab & Haryana High Court against the Punjab police for mishandling and forcefully arresting him. He has moved the petition via Advocate Ranjan Lakhanpal. The hearing of�the petition is expected to be held during next week.
The�High Court had a issued notice in January 2008 that one week prior notice must be issued in order for an arrest warrant be executed for Simranjit Singh Mann. But following the �Sarbat Khalsa� on November 10, the Punjab police arrested him, against Court orders, on November 15.
