UK based Sikh Charity Wins 2015 Best in Care Award

BIRMINGHAM, UK—A Sikh charity, Sikh Arts & Cultural Association (SACA) attended the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham’s Best in Care Awards ceremony (held on the 12 November 2015) and won  the ‘Charity Supporter of the Year award’.

SACA who are the organisers of the annual Birmingham to London Bike Ride raise funds for sick children since 1984. To date they have raised over £750,000 for various children’s charities in the UK. The SACA bike ride is one of a kind which attracts Sikhs from all walks of life and participants from other faiths and backgrounds. The 2 day cycle ride now attracts over 300 cyclists and also has team fauja relay marathon the route.

This year SACA partnered with QEHB charity to improve the children’s radiotherapy ward and they managed to raise over £72,000 which will go along way to treat children with cancer.
