FAZILKA, Punjab—A new incident of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Abohar has surprised the Sikh masses. Two ‘Angs’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib numbering 633-636 were found torn by a miscreant. The person responsible for this act was nabbed once by the police and local Sikhs.
District Administration comprising Tehsildar Manjit Singh Bhandari, Sub-Tehsildar Baljinder Singh Sidhu, SSP Swapan Sharma, SP Harjit Singh, DSP (Abohar) Gurbhej Singh, DSP (Balluana) Jasbir Singh, SHO Balkar Singh of Police Station-I & SHO Abhinav Chauhan of Police Station-II, SHO (Rural) Kuldeep Sharma and others immediately rushed to Gurdwara Sahib.
Appointed Granthi Mukhtiar Singh informed them that as he started reading ‘Hukamnama’ after Rehras Sahib at 6 pm on October 26, he found ‘Angs’ ranging 633-636 missing from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Police have started a thorough probe into the incident to nab the responsible culprits. SHO Balkar Singh of Police Station -I has announced reward of Rs. 50,000 from his own salary for providing solid information about the sacrilege committers. Police have also promised to keep confidential the identification of informer.
I don’t think that Militancy is the answer.
You will land up playing in the hand of forces over which you have no control.
You could just be a pawn in there hand.
It can have very unpredictable consequences.

How is all this beadbi happening now continously …… someone is behind these act – All sangat and granthies need to be more vigilant – why are they leaving Guru Granth Sahib Ji without anyone present? People cry afterwards but be there stay with Guru Granth Sahib Ji … protection is better than cure.
Like Harinder say expect more – this is set up by the guilty parties … 1980 and much worse is foreseen as in 1980 sikhs were armed but now we have nothing to fight back with and on one is listening…..
We need to get educated and before action….
When did good man start thinking so shellfishly. We are literally saying let’s avoid all this because it in convinces us. Avoid and look away. Is that what Sikhs are to do. No matter what the enemy has planned we should not fear as long as our hearts and actions are pure. We can not just sit back and let oppression stand.
Expect more such provocations or of a different Kinds in Future.

Some one deliberately Engineer a Sacrilege — People get angry —- People Start a Protest — Somebody shoots in the protesting crowd —Passion gets inflamed— Law and order worsens — State calls the Police and Army for law and order problem — State then becomes a police state — Blue star -2 and Woodrose like security operation ensues — You loose your freedom and loved ones — and another bitter era like the 1980-1990 ensues.
Advise :– Don’t fall in this “Religious Provocation Trap ” .
Just avoid all gatherings be it religious or political nature .
Pursue your education and education enthusiastically and keep Religion out .
Get educated and rich… then what…. asimilation into western society. Into hindu india. Harinder you are right but your response to these problems is cowardly. I dont know when standing up for yourself was considard wrong. We are in very dire stagnant situation we need change. We need to stand up together and fight our oppressors.
