Makkar Appeals for SGPC Staff to Remain Calm

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—President of SGPC, Avtar Makkar reportedly conducted a meeting with SGPC employees in the Teja Singh Samundari Hall over the weekend. He expressed his pain over the incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.1112666__d112350568

Appealing to SGPC employees to control their emotions during challenging circumstances, President Makkar said that all need to act wisely instead of emotionally. He said that he respects feelings of everyone but we need to remain in discipline.

Addressing the Raagis, Dhadis, Preachers and Granthis in Teja Singh Samundri Hall, he said that desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib is intolerable but we need direct our energy in tracing the powers responsible for these sacrilegious acts.

Harcharan Singh (Chief Secretary, SGPC), Dr. Roop Singh (Secretary), S. Manjit Singh (Secretary), S. Diljit Singh Bedi (Additional Secretary), S. Balwinder Singh Jaura Singha, S. Harbhajan Singh Manawa, S. Mohinder Singh Aahli, S. Sukhdev Singh Bhoora Kohna, S. Kewal Singh, S. Jaspal Singh, S. Satinder Singh, S. Sukhwinder Singh Grewal (Personal Assistant of Makkar), S. Partap Singh (Manager), S. Santokh Singh, S. Jagjit Singh, S. Jaswinder Singh Deenpur, S. Gurcharan Singh and S. Bhupinderpal Singh (Vice Secretary) were present in the meeting alongwith staff of SGPC, Dharam Parchar Committee and Sri Harmandir Sahib.
