LUDHIANA, Punjab—The numbers of Sikhs gathering to protest the police heavy handed tactics and the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib ji are increasing by the hour.
Giani Pinderpal Singh Ji and other prominent Sikh parcharaks (preachers) have this afternoon joined the protests in Ludhiana.
Jallandhar city has been brought to a stand still, as have many other district areas, including Amritsar Sahib.
Punjab officials are appealing for calm, but tensions remain high as Sikhs were treated with unnecessary force by police yesterday.
Bhai Panthpreet Singh has appealed to Sikhs to come out in force but keep at peace and not get drawn into unnecessary confrontations.
