:dateline:Condemning the attack on Giani Mal Singh yesterday, Sikh leaders have stated that the attack took place as result of anger among Sikh masses caused by Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s pardon. �Giani Mal Singh was among Panj Singh Sahibs who took the controversial decision.
Talking with Sikh24 earlier today, Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh said that incumbent Jathedars have to face such kind of situations�due to their lack of stance on Sikh issues.
�Indulging in greed, these Jathedars have become part of political tricks of Parkash Badal and have to face the consequences,� he added.
Takht Sri Damdama Sahib former Jathedar Giani Kewal Singh said the decision taken by Panj Singh Sahibs is politically motivated and Sikhs do not accept it.
�The attack on Giani Mal Singh is consequence of fury spread in the nation against this decision,� he added.
Reacting on the attack, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member Principal Surinder Singh said, �Sikhs are facing embarrassment due to this controversial decision. It also hit reputation of Jathedars who took this decision. This is the reason that a Sikh youth attacked Giani Mal Singh.�
