UK based Akaal Channel opens its sub-centre in Amritsar

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—UK based Akaal Channel being broadcasted in 44 countries across world, has opened a new sub-centre in Amritsar appointing Tejinder Singh as incharge. A religious program was held at the sub-centre to gain patronage of Guru Granth Sahib on its inaugurating function.

Following the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib by Sikh sangat, Hazoori Raagis of Sri Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) delighted the Sikh sangat with melodious Kirtan. Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh (Granthi, Sri Harmandir Sahib) read the Hukamnama Sahib on this occasion following the Ardas performed by Bhai Sultan Singh.    

Extending her best wishes to the Channel owners, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra (wife of Shaheed Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra) said that electronic media is the need of hour for Sikhs to present the injustices being delivered to them in India. She added that Akaal Channel has somewhat covered the vacuum by standing firmly on the Sikh issues.

Lashing out at biased approach of news channels in India, Bhai Papalpreet Singh said that the Indian media has been continuously presenting the Sikhs negatively  by addressing them with words like ‘Hardliners’, ‘Extremists’, ‘Ultras’, ‘Terrorists’ etc. He stated that Sikh community is a peace loving community and is plaintiff of creating robust society. Terming the existence of channels like Akaal Channel as need of hour, he said that Akaal Channel has been making tireless efforts to present the Sikh issues in positive light so every Sikh should get its subscription. He also informed that Akaal Channel is the first channel which is committed to the principles of Sikhism under patronage of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Amrik Singh Kooner (Managing Director, Akaal Channel) thanked the Sikh devotees for their aid to the Channel.
