AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—President of SGPC Jathedar Avtar Makkar has said that the disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is intolerable. “Those who committed the offence of disrespecting the Guru ought to be legally charged under Section 295-A for instigating religious sentiments,” he said.
He added that Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the enlightener of the world and inspires all to avoid sin.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, Makkar expressed deep concern over the recently viral videos of persons disrespecting Gurbani. He informed that SGPC will file a case under section 295-A against the accused. He appealed to the administration to seek out the accused so that they could be punished for their doings.
