LUDHIANA, Punjab—Bhai Amritpal Singh, a staunch supporter of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who was arrested from Hassanpur few days back, has started hunger strike in Ludhiana jail. Bhai Amritpal Singh was today brought to civil hospital Ludhiana for medical checkup.

He informed that an SSP of Punjab police allegedly used abusive words for Sikh Guru Sahibs while arresting them at village Hassanpur.

“This incident deeply hurt my sentiments, and that’s why I decided to undergo hunger strike,” he said.  He maintained that his hunger strike is to express solidarity with Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who has been on hunger strike since January 16.  He stated that he will continue his hunger strike till the accused SSP doesn’t get punished.
