Convicted Murderer Bibi Jagir Moves High Court Seeking Permission to Visit North America

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Senior Akali leader and former SGPC President Bibi Jagir “Kaur” has filed an application with the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking permission to visit the USA and Canada.  Bibi Jagir is the MLA from Bholath constituency.

Her passport was confiscated due to her involvement in the murder case of her own daughter in year 2000.  She is currently out on bail.  Bibi has been charged with multiple crimes, including forcible abortion of her daughter’s child, abduction, and conspiring to murder her daughter.

Bibi Jagir has filed a petition in the High Court alleging that she wants to visit USA and Canada for three weeks to speak with supporters there.  She would part of a special Akali delegation that plans to hold meetings in the West to seek support for the elections in 2017.  She would accompany leaders like Manjit Singh GK, Manjinder Sirsa, Virsa S Valtoha and others.
