Indian Censor Board Objects Over Sant Bhindranwale Scene In Upcoming Movie

Watch: Sarbjeet Dhunda vs. Sant Jarnail Singh BhindranwaleCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Indian Censor Board has asked the producer and the director of the movie ‘Sant Te Sipahi’ to remove a lecture of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

A movie features an original footage of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale; however, the Censor Board has expressed objection over this footage and has also asked to remove original scenes of firing on Darbar Sahib during June, 1984.  

Director Sukhwant Dhadda said that he met Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale in February 1984 and shooted a documentary for BBC. He informed that he has directed movies like ‘Chann Pardesi’ and ‘Ek Chadar Maili Si’ etc. He informed that the Censor Board has asked for removal of Sant Ji’s speech in which he states that a Sikh wants welfare of all communities.  He said that Censor Board has violated the freedom of independent speech and writing.

Sukhwant Dhadda informed that Censor wants elimination of every presentation of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale including his posters.  The movie is expected to be released later this year.
