CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In press conference organized at Press Club here yesterday, Sucha Singh Chhotepur ruled out the information that he was removed from convener-ship of state unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
“I was appointed as convener of the state unit of AAP by party high command and will continue on the position till the high command passes orders otherwise. However, it is disappointing that some leaders of the party are spreading false propaganda of removing me from the key post”, he clarified.
He said, “Party meeting should be held 4 times in year and I have conducted 8 meetings in just 7 months so far. Still some party leaders are conspiring against me. They should work for strengthening the party instead.”
He said that the party would launch ‘Beiman Bhajao-Punjab Bachao’ drive across Punjab from May 15 which would start from Sri Amritsar and conclude on May 23 at Sri Anandpur Sahib. The campaign is being initiated with motive of creating awareness among people about drug trading and Badal family’s control over transport and cable network. AAP senior leader and incharge of Punjab affairs Sanjay Singh will also attend the event, he added.
