Bhai Hawara: Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa Is The Shaheed Darshan Singh Pheruman of 20th Century
NEW DELHI—Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara has appealed to the entire Sikh Nation to come forward to support the struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Bhai Hawara has passed a message asking the Sikh Sangat to not celebrate his birthday this year, and instead support the campaign to seek release of Sikh Political Prisoners. Bhai Hawara is looked upon by Sikh youth worldwide.
His birthday was going to be celebrated across the world at a grand scale with Akhand Path Sahibs and Kirtan Darbar. Bhai Hawara has said that instead, Sikh Sangat should dedicate the darbars to the on-going Sikh struggle and contribute to the Nepal earthquake victims.
The note was given to Bibi Pushpinder Kaur (sister of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara) who recently met him in the Tihar Jail. She has informed Sikh24 that Bhai Hawara has asked Sikh Nation to take the struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa forward.
Bhai Hawara has said that he is grateful to Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who initiated the struggle for the release of Sikh detainees. He said that Bapu Ji’s firm decision has filled up new spirit in the struggle for release of political Sikh prisoners who have already served their life sentences. Bhai Hawara labeled Bapu Ji as a descendant of Shaheed Darshan Singh Pheruman.
In the same message, Bhai Hawara has also asked Sikh Sangat to help the victims of earthquake in Nepal.
“Sikhs believe in the welfare of all communities, so we should help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal who lost their everything in it,” he added.
