Sikhs Continue Relief Work in Nepal; All Gurudwaras Remain Unaffected From The Aftermath of the Disaster

SP Singh OberoiKATHMANDU, Nepal—After the intensive earthquake of magnitude 7.9 and its aftershocks, Nepal suffered immense damage.  Buildings in Nepal changed into rough marble and this natural disaster caused death of near about 4000 people.

Various Sikh organizations from Punjab and abroad have already started humanitarian relief projects here.  Today, SP Singh Oberoi of ‘Sarbat da Bhala Trust’ also reached Kathmandu to provide relief to the victims of this earthquake.  Oberoi has been involved with upkeep of Gurdwaras (Sikh places of worship) in Nepal.

Oberoi informed Sikh24 that langars have been organized at many venues to provide food to the victims. He also informed that the buildings of Gurdwaras in Nepal remained unaffected and he has observed all the buildings.

He said that his organization was already in touch with the Nepal Government about the seva of Gurdwaras in Nepal.
