US Congressman Joe Courtney Asked to Join Sikh Caucus

:dateline:Swaranjit Singh Khalsa, convener of Sikh Sewak Society International arranged a meeting with Office of Congressman Joe Courtney in which he met Cutter W Oliver who is District Scheduler to the Congressman.

Khalsa discussed several Sikh issues with him. �During the discussion, he emphasized the need for US Congressmen to join the American Sikh Congressional Caucus. �Khalsa urged congressman to join Sikh caucus and also invited him to join Vaisakhi celebration in CT Sikh Gurdwaras.

During the discussion, Swanjit Singh informed them about various proclamation that have been received by the Sikh Community related to Sikh Awareness Month and Vaisakhi. �He asked the Congressman to pass a bill making the month of April as Sikh Heritage Month just like it is observed in Ontario.
�
Khalsa also informed him regarding Vaisakhi Campaign that will be initiated�in Norwich this year during the month of April to educate people regarding the Sikh religion.
�
Oliver Cutter Assured Swaranjit Singh Khalsa that he will organize a special meeting between congressman and Sikh Community in May 2015 to discuss�various matters which are important to the community.
