LUDHIANA, Punjab—Supporters and the committee members for the release of Sikh political prisoners have claimed that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa was given slow poison by the medical staff at Civil Hospital, Ludhiana.  Bapu Surat Singh was put under arrest at the Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, on February 26 and since, police has not allowed family members to meet with him on regular basis.

Since his arrest, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is being force fed by the police, against his wishes.  In addition, the hospital staff has not provided information to the family or committee members of the procedures they are performing on Bapu Ji.  Family has raised concern over Bapu Ji’s deteriorating health and have requested that a panel of doctors continuously supervise his health condition.

Supporters, and committee members suspect that the police and medical staff at the hospital have given slow poison to Bapu Ji, leading to severe medical conditions.
