CHANDIGARH, Punjab—State Convener of Aam Admi Party, S. Sucha Singh Chhotepur has informed Sikh24 that Aam Admi Party will not take part in the upcoming Municipality elections of Punjab. He said that Municipality elections are going to be conducted on 25 February and due to insufficiency of time to search for honest and committed candidates, AAP will not contest the elections.  He said that the motive of Aam Admi Party is to promote honest social workers, who work for the welfare of society.

“The Election Commission has announced February 11 as the last date for submitting names of candidates, so, it will be cumbersome for our party to bring forward the honest candidates in such a short time period,” said S. Chhotepur.

Explaining the efforts of AAP workers during the Delhi Assembly Election, S. Chhotepur said that the party brought forward the candidates of honest image in society. “Our party candidates gained massive response from the people of Delhi despite false preachment by BJP,” he added. He said that “the next motive is to prove ourselves in the upcoming Assembly Elections in Punjab”.  “We have started preparation for the upcoming Assembly Election of Punjab going to be held in the start of 2017.”
