Intolerance and Injustice Against Minorities are Part of Indian State Policy: Dal Khalsa

dal khalsa logoAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Dal Khalsa has echoed the statement of US president Barack Obama that the “acts of intolerance” experienced by religious faiths of all types in India in the past few years would have shocked Mahatma Gandhi.

Hoping that United States of America would respect and live up to the ideals of liberty, equality and justice, the organization urged Mr Obama to engage the Indian leadership on the manner and methodology with which they crush the aspirations of Sikhs and other nationalities in the country.

In a statement, party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said inequality, intolerance and injustice against its minorities and downtrodden have been the state policy since transfer of power in 1947.

Going further, he said Gandhi would be at pains to witness that the Indian people for whose liberation he fought have chosen the party to run the country that takes pride in eulogizing his killer.

He said Muslims, Christians and Sikhs have been victims of politics of genocide perpetuated by mainstream political parties with the full backing of present day government and administration.

He said though US president has not named any particular religion or event, yet his counseling to India assumes significance as the world’s strongest democracy has rightly shown the mirror to so-called largest democracy.

He said the minorities were at receiving end in India.  “The voice to convert India into a Hindu nation in letter and spirit that were subdued earlier during Congress rule gets shriller and louder after Hindutva forces get’s reins of power in Delhi”.
