NEW DELHI—While there is a close contest between Sikh candidates in the upcoming Delhi elections, results of Election Surveys are also increasing problems for BJP.  As per expects, Sikh voters can make an impact in 18 of the 70 constituencies.  A number of key politicians of Sikh backgrounds include Jarnail Singh (Rajouri Garden), Jarnail Singh (Tilak Nagar), Jagdeep Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Avtar Singh Hit and others.

The elections are important to Sikhs in a number of ways – if Kejriwal comes into power, he has promised to initialize Special Courts for investigating 1984 anti-Sikh pogroms.  It would also mean that the programs may be referred to a “Sikh Genocide”.  Kejriwal has also talked about release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their jail terms.  If AAP comes into power, it will also take up the issue of plight of Sikh farmers in Gujarat.

Elections surveys by four different organizations have highlighted AAP dominance in Delhi Assembly Elections. Hindustan Times-C4, ABP News, India Today and Zee Talima has claimed that AAP will win 34 to 46 seats, BJP will win 19 to 32 seats and Congress will win 2 to 7 seats. In comparison of Surveys of 30 January, AAP is going in benefit by 15% and BJP is in loss by 15%.

Political experts have said that the negative preachment of BJP against AAP has affected BJP largely. It is noteworthy that BJP held a campaign of posters against Arvind Kejriwal in which BJP depicted Kejriwal very lowly; terming him as low caste.  People of Delhi strictly condemned such wordings by BJP and Kejriwal became character of sympathy for common voters.  False preachment about fundraising of AAP also put reverse effect on BJP. A senior Election Analyst said that negative attempt of BJP in election preachment is making it recessive.

BJP leaders are annoyed of these survey results to such an extent that its senior leader Satish Upadhaiy praised their enemy Congress party to lure AAP supporters to instead vote of Congress, if not for BJP.  Satish said in his statements that Congress did enough for the development of India. It is being considered that if voters will vote Congress, then it will be in favor of BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said in his rally in Ambedkar Nagar that these survey results are baseless.
