1) This Morcha is/was not based on today’s march. The Morcha is based on the Hunger Strike by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa. As long as the Hunger Strike continues, the Morcha continues. The day Bhai Sahib breaks his Hunger strike, Morch is finished that day—not before that. As i write this, 57th Day of Morcha has started.
2) Today’s March to Darbar Sahib was for Darshan of Sri Harimandir Sahib/Sri Akaal Takht Sahib. It was not to ”gather sangat or public opinion” because Worldwide Sangat had already shown its committment to Morcha yesterday, on 7th January, Black Flag March day.
3) March didn’t take place due to the brutality of Governments. A Sikh was stopped from doing Darshan of Sri Darbar Sahib.
Haryana Government gave their own reasons. They said they wanted to avert a clash at the Border, as the clash would have taken place on territory of Haryana. Punjab Government would have accused Haryana government and held it responsible if there would have been causalities.
On Punjab side, border had been sealed. There were barricades all the way till Sri Amritsar Sahib. Thousands of Police were on guard. Singhs were being arrested. Border had been barricaded. There was no way Bhai Sahib could have entered Punjab—and in that situation, our options were limited:
A) Arrest of Bhai Sahib and Sangat
B) Lathicharge – Firing on Sangat, on both sides of Border.
Punjab Government would have accused Haryana Government for everything which would have happened. Haryana Government was in no mood to take any risk.
Hence, to save the Morcha, Bhai Sahib and Mukhi Singhs asked Panj Piare their decision, while sitting in Palki Sahib with Maharaj. Panj Singhs were told their options by District Commander of Ambala.
So they gave a written Hukam to Bhai Sahib to return. It was a timely decision, we were receiving reports that Bhai Sahib would be arrested and sent to Ambala Central Jail and would not be allowed to return to Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib.
5 Singhs, Bhai Sahib’s family and a few more Singhs have gone to Sri Darbar Sahib for attending the Bhog and Ardas of Akhand Path, while Bhai Sahib continues their Morcha at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib.
