AMBALA, Haryana—Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar and Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) president Jagdish Singh Jhinda today arrived at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib Patshahi 10th to meet Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa who has been sitting on a hunger strike since Nov 14 for the permanent release of Sikh political prisoners languishing in various jails of India despite having completed their life sentences. They enquired about the health condition of Bhai Khalsa.
Talking there with Bhai Khalsa, Makkar said they would meet Utter Pardesh (UP) governor to take up the issue. He said SGPC is taking legal advice in this regard. He declared to grant 5 lakh Rs to the Langar Hall of Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib.
He was accompanied by SGPC executive member Karnail Singh Panjoli, executive member Nirmal Singh Johlan, SGPC member Ajmer Singh Lachhru, secretary Dalmegh Singh, secretary Parmjit Singh Saroa etc. Major Singh Chanarthal, Gurmail Singh Toranto, Atma Singh Panjoli, Sukhminder Singh Bagria were also along with them.
At the same time, HSGMC president Jagdish Singh Jhinda arrived at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib along with his aides to meet Bhai Khalsa. After enquiring about his health condition, Jhinda assured to support his struggle. Bhai Bagicha Singh Varaich thanked the personalities on behalf of Bhai Khalsa.
It is notable that Baba Sahib Singh Rupal heti, Baba Gurjit Singh Harigarh, Sikh Students Federation leader Bhai Onkar Singh Brar, Sahib Sandhu Bhadaur, Bhai Jagtar Singh Jangeana, Avtar Singh Vidhate, Surjit Singh Dharmi Fauji etc. also visited Bhai Khalsa.
