CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Bhai Shamsher Singh, who is imprisoned in Burail Jail along with Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Lakha and Bhai Gurmeet Singh since 1995 in the assassination case of former Chief Minister of Punjab Beant Singh, got 42 days of Parole yesterday.
Bhai Bhagwant Singh (younger brother of Bhai Shamsher Singh), Bhai RP Singh (Sikh Relief), Bhai Gurcharan Singh, Professor Mehar Singh Malli, Parminder Singh Amloh, Advocate Kulwinder etc. reached to receive Bhai Sahib from Jail. He was welcomed warmly and was honored with a Siropa in the echo of ovations.
Bhai Sahib thanked the Sikhs of India and abroad by saying that it is due to their sacrifice that he is able to come out of Jail. Bhai Sahib went to Gurdwara Amb Sahib to thank Guru Sahib, where local Granthi honoured Bhai Sahib with a Siropa.
Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Lakha was on 28 days Parole and returned to Jail, Bhai Gurmeet Singh is also on Parole from 13th November. Bhai Shamsher Singh informed that his daughter will get married on 6th December and he is happy on this occasion. It is also noteworthy that next date for the permanent Parole of these Singhs is decided on 9th February, 2015 by Punjab and Haryana High Court.
