Akal Takht Sahib Orders Californian to Stop Printing and Distribution of Guru Granth Sahib Saroops

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—A California based distributor is receiving flak for distributing copies of Guru Granth Sahib Ji without prior permission of Akal Takht Sahib.  Thaminder Anand, an individual based out of Los Angeles, runs a website online which was earlier advertising to ship saroops for as low as $30 shipping charge.

Though Anand was not making money from this endeavor, the way he was shipping and printing saroops has been the reason behind the criticism.

A complaint was filed with the SGPC and the Akal Takht Sahib, blaming the individual for getting saroops printed from China.  These saroops were being mailed using regular postal mail server using dropshipping directly from the China based printers.

Following action by the Akal Takht Sahib, the link to order saroops has now been removed from the individual’s website.

Guru Granth Sahib is considered the living embodiment of the Sikh Gurus.  As per mandates by the Akal Takht Sahib, the superior court of the Sikhs, only the SGPC can print and distribute saroops of Guru Granth Sahib.
