CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Following the historical success achieved by BJP in Haryana and Maharashtra assembly polls, state leaders of the saffron party are not hesitating to make daring statement in regards to SAD-BJP ties. Now, veteran BJP leader and former Health Minister of Punjab Satpal Gosain has said the BJP alliance with the SAD in the state needs a rethink.

Satpal GosainTaking a jibe at SAD, he said, “A string of allegations against the Akali Dal has not helped the BJP in any way. The drug trade allegations have been a major concern for the people. The BJP needs to rework the nitty-gritty of its relation with its alliance partner for its own good.”

He accused the SAD of betraying the interests of the Punjab industry, saying the industry was suffering and the businessmen in the state were disappointed.

“The industry is in doldrums. The state policies have ruined the industry. The surveys we conducted have shown that there is a widespread resentment among the industrialists,” he added.
