Help Daljit: Urgent Bone Marrow Appeal for a Canadian

VANCOUVER, BC, Canada—Daljit S., a 28 year-old woman from Canada is looking worldwide for a bone marrow donor. Daljit was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in January 2014 and her best hope of surviving is a transplant.

The following message was sent to Sikh24 by Daljit.  Sikh24 urges all readers to play their part in helping Daljit.  Bone marrow donations can potentially save the lives of patients suffering from leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers. But it can be difficult finding donors, and within some ethnic groups, the search is even harder.

The following message was sent to Sikh24 by Daljit –

I am reaching out to every Sikh Students’ Association in North America to urge everyone to get involved. South Asians are the most underrepresented in the national registries in both Canada and the United States. Hosting a bone marrow drive is simple and it could impact so many lives as there are millions of people waiting on the global bone marrow transplant registry still looking for their donors. Anyone in the world can help by sharing my message and registering in their respective country to become a bone marrow donor.

I am fortunate that I have been blessed with the opportunity to do something about this huge problem, but I am begging for your help and for so many others.

If you need more information about me prior to agreeing to host a drive, feel free to look at the Facebook page we’re using to put out accurate information:
