PATIALA, Punjab—A video surfaced last week in which a Sikh woman, apparently from England, had leveled charges against Giani Thakur Singh, kathakar from Patiala for sexual molestation. The phone conversation between the woman and Giani Thakur Singh was recorded and put online. In the video, she questions how the latter was able to have sexualized interactions with her, despite her being respectful to him.
The woman, whose identity is not known, was apparently a well-wisher of Giani Thakur Singh who continued to attend his programs despite him being allegedly immodest towards her. In the video, when the Sikh woman asks Giani Thakur Singh about how he ended up kissing her, he does not deny the fact but states that it happened due to her ‘karams’.
A clarification has now been made by Giani Thakur Singh, acknowledging that the phone conversation actually did happen, however due to the fact that he was sitting in sangat at the time, he could not attend the call properly. As per the Patiala based preacher, the call took place two years ago, and since, the woman, along with her family has attended a number of his diwans in England. He states that the family has also visited him in Punjab, and has brought him gifts.
Giani Thakur Singh has blamed a particular Jathebandi for allegedly forcing the family to upload the video online. He however has not named this organization.
Giani Thakur Singh alleges that this was done due to hatred towards the Damdami Taksal in some sort of global conspiracy.
In addition, he asserts in the video that a number of edits were made and parts were removed to malign him. Giani Thakur Singh states that he is a well-respected preacher and would never commit such a mistake.
“People who listen to my katha with a true heart know me well,” says Giani Thakur Singh in the video.
“While the family was leaving, I had only given them love as if they were my children,” he adds. “I feel this family was manipulated. I am well known in Sikh Sangat and various Sikh saints know me well,” he concluded.

Both videos leave a few questions unanswered, such as why Giani Thakur Singh is hiding the identity of this woman—he could personally intervene and solve the problem. Secondly, he has stated that the phone call was recorded when he was sitting in sangat, this is why he could not attend the call properly. However, before the bibi brings up the issue of molestation, Giani Thakur Singh seems to be talking with much interest.
Previous, but unsubstantiated, allegations of sexual misconduct in other countries with other women have dogged him in the past, but more recently his respect and audience have grown. He has also been accused of being affiliated with the right wing Hindu terrorist organization, the RSS, after senior members of the RSS Sikh outreach, including its former President Rulda “Singh”, attended programs at his home and met with him in private.
Giani Thakur Singh is a close associate of Baba Harnaam Singh Dhuma. He runs the global wing of Damdami Taksal, Jatha Bhindra under the guidance of Baba Dhumma.
This is not surprising, we had people during Guru Nanak Devji who tried to defame him by sending girls to him but they all got blessed after listening to his teachings. So sangat Ji please do not have any doubts about Giani Ji or any guru ka pyaara Sikh as there will be lots of people trying to defame gursikhs in this kalyug, people said so many rude words to Guru Amardas Ji too. So don’t let rumours get you.
